This exam is conducted by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) to admit candidates in undergraduates & postgraduates courses like agriculture, horticulture, sericulture.

The candidates  must be an Indian  and should completed 12th standard with minimum of 50 % in Physics, chemistry, Mathematics / Biology / Agriculture / home science as their subjects for general category & 40%  for SC/ST category. The medium of instruction will be in Hindi and English.

The applicant must attain 17 years of age& not more than 23 years of age. The applications will be issued in February and the last date of receipt of application is last week of February. The exam commences in the month of April. The result will be published in website & no re evaluation is not applicable.

The applications will be available in ICAR institutions & it can be requested through post by sending a request to “The controller of examinations, education division “, New Delhi. The examination of Rs.400/- for general category & Rs.200/- for SC/ST candidates can be paid through demand draft in the favour of “Deputy Director General education ICAR”, payable at New Delhi. An additional fee has to be paid for postal & handling charges of application. The applications can be availed online by logging into www.icar.org.in.

The question paper for UG consists of 180 multiple choice objective type questions divided into 2 papers namely

Paper A                       Physics, Chemistry, Agriculture/ Biology.

Paper B                       Physics, Chemistry, mathematics & Biology.

For PG one question paper consists of 150 multiple choices, objective type questions and also 10 cross matching type questions in each major subject group.
