KARNATAKA COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (CET) 2016-2017
The Karnataka examination authority is the organizer of this exam to admit residents of Karnataka in various courses in colleges in Karnataka colleges.
This exam is also similar to COMEDK entrance exam. In order to take up this examination, the student must completed 2nd year PUC with minimum 50% marks for general category and 40% of marks in case of SC/ST category with PCB/PCM as their streams in PUC. Even though this exam is conducted exclusive for Karnataka students, the requirements for medical and dental courses will be as per the norms of MCI (medical council of India) & DCI (dental council of India). For engineering the norms of AICTE (All India council of Technical Education) is followed.
The applications will be availed from March in various schools and colleges. The examination fee is Rs.650/- for general category and Rs.500/- for SC/ST category which can be remitted in the form of demand draft in favour of Executive Director, Examination authority of Karnataka payable at Bangalore. The applications can also be availed by sending a request through post to Executive Director, Examination authority of Karnataka. The exam will be conducted in April across various districts in Karnataka.
The examination is divided into 4 papers namely Paper 1, 2, 3 & 4 and the topics covered are Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. The questions in each paper will be asked for a total of 60 marks.
