ENGINEERING SERVICES EXAM (ESE) 2013
Unlike other exams this exam is not conducted to admit students in engineering courses. This exam is conducted to recruit the candidates who have engineering background to work in Railways. This exam is organized by Union Public Service commission shortly known as UPSC.
The applicant must be a graduate from any engineering background. The applicant must attain minimum 21 years of age and not more than 30 years. There is an exception up to 5 years for SC/ST/BC candidates. Moreover the candidates should be physically fit according to norms provided by UPSC.
The applications will be issued in various head post offices throughout in India by paying Rs.20/-application. The cost of application if availed through online from www.upsc.gov.inwill be Rs.50/-per application. The application must be filled and sent back to Control of examinations UPSC, Delhi from 10 days when it is purchased. Kindly note it should be send only through Speed Post not by courier or any other mode. The major Indian cities will act as examination centre for this exam.
The examination is partitioned into two parts namely Part 1 & Part 2.Part 1 is further divided into 3 parts namely Part A consists of questions from English , Part B consists of questions from General studies and Part C consists of two objective paper for the concern subject. All these questions has to completed within 2 hours and total marks for Part 1 is 200.All questions in part 1 are of objective type & for every wrong answer 0.33 mark will be deducted as negative marking.
The Part 2 is Personality test for 200 marks. The candidates must obtain minimum mark from both Part 1 & 2 to get through this exam. The results will be published in website & all leading newspapers in our country.
