INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES (IAS) 2013
IAS is one of the highest designations offered by the government of India.
The people with such designation are respected by people for India for the fact that it is not easy to attain such designation and they serve for the welfare of the public.
The people are recruited for this prestigious designation when they clear the examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
This examination consists of 3 parts namely preliminary examination, main exam and the personal interview.
It is not so easy to clear this examination as it requires great amount of concentration and preparation for the exam.
In order to write this examination the applicant must be a bachelor degree holder. The applicant can attempt this exam only for 4 times.
In case of reserved category candidates there is no restriction on number of attempts i.e. they can attend ‘n’ number of times as they wish.
The candidates must be minimum 21 years of age not more than 30 years of age in case of general category candidates.
There is age relaxation in terms of reserved category candidates.
These IAS holds the various strategic positions in the government.
Their primary duty is to carry out the daily today task of the government.
They also frame and implement the policy with the help of the government.
They duties also include supervision of other government officials and to keep an eye how the government funds are utilised and to check whether the public are benefited by the government funds and policies.
They are also responsible for law and order in the state.
In short the IAS is appointed to make sure that the government funds and policies are always benefitted to the public welfare.
