OPEN MANAGEMENT APTITUDE TEST (OPEN MAT) 2013-2014

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is the organizer of this exam. This exam is conducted to identify suitable graduate for the postgraduate in management courses like Post Graduate Diploma in Finance Management (PGDFM), Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management (PGDMM), Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Post Graduate Diploma in Operation Management (PGDOM) and Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM).The duration of the course varies between 1 -3 years depending upon the courses.

As such there are no criteria for age to take up this exam. The only criteria for writing this exam is that the applicant must be graduate with minimum 50% of marks in case of general category and 45% of marks in case of SC/ST applicants.  The applicants who are Non graduates but if they have 6 years in managerial/ supervisory/ professional experiences are eligible for joining Diploma program if they successfully cleared the entrance. More over the applicants attempted CAT; MAT exam doesn’t need to write this exam. The marks scored by them in that exam will be considered for admission.

The application can be availed in online and offline. For online the applications are available in the link www.ignou.ac.in and for offline the applications are available in IGNOU office from December.The examination fee is Rs.550/- inclusive of  prospectus which can be remitted in the form of demand draft in favor of  Registrar (SRD), IGNOU, Delhi, payable at New Delhi before the end of December.. The exam will be conducted in February. The medium of instruction will be in English only.

The examination consists of 200 multiple choice objective questions that must be completed within duration of 180 minutes. The topics from which the questions are asked are Quantitative Aptitude (50 questions),) Reasoning (70 questions), English Language (50 questions) and General Awareness (30 questions).
