PUNJAB TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (PTU CET) 2013-2014
Earlier on the basis of CET the students were admitted in Punjab engineering colleges, but this system has been scarped. From now onwards the students will be admitted on the basis PTU CET Examination in engineering colleges in Punjab.
The candidates from other states are also eligible to take up this examination. The reservation for residents of Punjab when compared to non residents of Punjab will be in the ratio of 85:15. So, the residents of Punjab should mention this in the form while they are applying for AIEEE.
The candidates who are going appear in final examination of 12th standard are eligible to write this exam. The students who have passed their higher secondary and secured aggregate 50% marks in biology, Physics, Mathematics, Computer science and chemistry or its equivalent examination are also eligible to take up the exam.
The applications will be issued from April in office of Directorate of Technical Education and in Punjab bank.
The application fee is 600/- inclusive of postal charges which should remitted in the form of demand draft taken in favour of Registrar, PTU payable at Jalandhar on or before end of April. The examination will be held in end of May.
The examination pattern is similar to that of AIEEE. The questions will be asked from higher secondary syllabus covering the Physics, Chemistry and mathematics.
The duration of the examination is 3 hours. For B.Tech the Physics & Mathematics are compulsory subjects. The subjects such as Chemistry, Biology, and Bio-Technology & Computer science are optional subjects. For B.Arch the questions from the subject drawing, aptitude & mathematics will be asked in the examination.
