THE SCHOLASTUC APTITUDE TEST (OR) SCHOLASTIC ASSESSMENT TEST (SAT) 2013-2014
The College Entrance Examination Board, USA organizes this exam to measure individual critical thinking and problem solving skills. With the help of this exam we can measure one’s ability and potential before the students getting admission for UG courses. This test is mandatory if they want to get admission in USA colleges. The Educational Testing Serviceis the organization which developed this concept and organized this exam before College Entrance Examination Board.
There is no eligibility criterion to write this exam. The students can write this exam in their 11th or 12th standard which depends upon the student. The examination fee is $ 49 per application. The score range is from 600-2400 points which will be given as per the student’s ability.
The duration of this exam is 4 hour approximately. The examination is partitioned into various sections. The section 1 consists of critical reading which consists of the questions from the topics like Sentence completions, paragraph-length critical reading and reading comprehension. The section 2 consists of writing which consists of the questions from the topics like Grammar, usage, and word choice. The section 3 consists of Mathematics which consists of the questions from the topics like Algebra and functions, number and operations, probability, data analysis, geometry and statistics.
This exam is of two types namely SAT reasoning test and SAT subject tests. The SAT subject test is of 60 minutes duration which is of 5 areas/subjects. The 5 subjects are History and Social Studies, Science, Mathematics, English and Languages.
