STATE LEVEL ELIGIBILITY FOR LECTURERSHIP (SLET) 2013-2014
The Bharathiar University, Coimbatore is the organiser of this exam to determine the potential skill and ability for lectures in colleges of Tamilnadu and Puducherry. This exam is mandatory like NET exam for people who wanted to be lecturers in Tamilnadu and Puducherry.
The eligibility to write this exam is that the applicant must completed their master degree with minimum of 55% marks in case of general category and minimum of 50% marks in case of SC/ST/PH candidates. They are exceptions regarding the eligibility to write this exam which will apply if the candidates fall under the specifications given in the applications.
The notifications regarding this exam will be published in the website www.b-u.ac.in the applications will be issued from December and last for the submission of duly filled applications will be in January. The exam will be conducted in March.
The examination is partitioned into 3 papers. The paper 1 consists of questions for a total of 100 marks that must be completed within duration of 85 minutes. The questions will check the reasoning ability, comprehension and divergent thinking of the applicants. The Paper 2 consists of short questions from the subject opted by the candidates that has to answered in the booklet provided for a total of 100 marks that must be completed within a duration of 85 minutes. The paper 3 consists of descriptive question from the subject opted by the candidates for 200 marks that has to be completed within a duration of 150 minutes. The medium of instruction will be in Tamil as well as in English.
The optional subjects are Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Commerce, Geography, Computer Science, History, Application, Economics, Home Science, Physical Sciences, Management, Public Administration, Mathematical Sciences, Hindi, Music, Chemical Sciences, Political Science, Journalism, Sociology, Physical Education, Tamil, philosophy, Life Sciences, Electronics, Psychology, Social Work and English.
