TEACHER ELIGIBILITY TEST (TET) 2013-2014 ENTRANCE EXAM

Earlier in India, there were no entrance exams or eligibilitytest for aspriring students who wish to choose their profession as teachers. But later, the governmnet thought the necessary to organize an exam emphaiing the elihiblity to become a teacher.Hence this exam is organized by both central government and state government yearly once which is mandatory to attend if a person wants to be a teacher.

As such there is no criteria for writing this exam.The candidate can attempt this exam ‘n’ number of times.The certify given is valid for maximum period of 7 years. In order to clear this exam the applicants needs to secure minimum 60% of marks in this exam, then pnly they are eligible to employ them as teacher’s ascross various schools in India.

The exam is parttioned into 2 sections namely paper 1 & 2. The candiate who wishes to handle classes from standard 1^st to 5^th standard must attend paper 1. The paper 2 is to be attended by the candiates who wishes to handle clasees from 6^th to 8^th standard.

The medium of Instruction can be either English or any other regional language selected by the candidate. The examination consists of 150 questions each acrrying 1 mark per question.The questions asked in the examinaton will be asked from the topics like Language of Instruction, Optional language, Child development & pedagogy, Environmental studies and mathematics.
